The Maligne Lake is the largest and deepest lake in the Canadian Rockies. The local Red Indians called it "The Lake of Evil". Translating this to French and that is how the name "Maligne Lake" is formed. The lake is located at 1,800 meter above sea level, 22 km in length and the deepest part can go to 97 meter deep.
